Free* Food Ontario cares about the afforability of your foods, as well as, where they come from, how the animal is treated and what farming practices the farmer utilizes while they are raising their stock.
All meats sourced by Free* Food Ontario are sourced from local farmers who use No Drugs or Hormones to increase their production. The ethical treatment of the animal is of utmost importance as an animal raised without stress or confinment is less likely to become ill and require treatment. Antibiotic treatments are not required when the animal is healthy.
A drug free animal carries no residual drugs or hormones in its body and the concerns of these residual drugs in our foods are eliminated.
Most of our farmers are farming under "Organic Principles". These methods promote sustainable farms and reduce the amount of chemicals in the environment.
Our mission is to provide you with premium quality specialty raised food products at a price all families can afford. Many consumers are becoming increasingly concerned about the drugs and additives used in the production of the foods we eat as well as the living conditions of the livestock. Our farming practices will allow you to feel confident about your food purchases. Our farming practices provide a nutritious, wholesome and affordable alternative to conventionally produced foods.
Premium Quality
We do not cut corners when it comes to quality. Aside from our growing principles, we also take every step to ensure that the quality of our products is maintained. Our beef is all Angus bred and raised on open pastures. It is fully aged to ensure maximum flavour and tenderness. Hogs in our Omega-3 program are fed a diet enriched with vitamins, minerals and supplemented with a plant source of essential fatty acids. Our chicken is fed a flaxseed diet and is never given antibiotics. The birds are air chilled and are never pumped with water so the value and flavour is never diluted.
Our commitment to quality starts with the care and selection of quality farming principles, but it doesn’t stop there. All products are vacuum packaged, at peak freshness and individually quick frozen for a long freezer life.
